New Year’s Eve 2015

I’m sitting on the couch at home after a night of celebrating New Year’s Eve. The streets outside continue to thrive with the sounds of revellers ringing in the new year. Footage of London’s fireworks is playing on TV, displaying another colourful light show along the river Thames.

Rather than hit the crowds in Central London to see them, my wife and I opted to enjoy a five-course meal at a local restaurant with live music and a very lively atmosphere.

It was a pleasant night out, full of food and wine. But most important was the company. Contrary to what some people think, you don’t always need a loud party with tonnes of friends to get drunk with. Sometimes you just need someone special to share the moment with.

I’ve found that the most exciting social occasions can be more fun with that certain someone beside you, just as dull social occasions can be more bearable if they’re right there beside you. It’s one of the great things about being in a relationship.

Whatever you did… and whoever you did it with… I hope you all had a great night. Happy new year, everyone!
