Family & Life

Life spins on with its usual mix of serious and fun.

The serious stuff has been at work, which has involved working on some interesting special projects and a new salary structure. Elle and I have also taken the first steps for looking for a bigger place – we’re going to need it when our little one starts moving around!

Zack is gorgeous and the times he smiles really fill our hearts with joy. As last Sunday was Mother’s Day, I decided Elle was thoroughly deserving of a reward for all her hard work. So I (on behalf of Zack) prepared a couple of treats.

The first was breakfast in bed, consisting of pancakes with maple syrup and bacon.

The second was a care package designed to help her relax.

This included a Mum bath bomb from Lush, a facial sheet mask, dark chocolate salted caramels from Hotel Chocolat, and a small bottle of Prosecco… all things that I knew she would like.

Zack also wrote a card for her (what do you mean 10 week old babies can’t write? Who else could have written  it?) 😛

The rest of the day was spent with our own mothers, although sadly my mum was very ill and there was news of a death, postponing mother’s day celebrations until Easter.

However, the day at Elle’s parents was very nice and included lots of delicious food as always. Not least a Sunday roast… which always goes down well.

Other than that, life continues as normal. Serious and fun. Fun and serious. That just seems to be the way things flow when you’re an adult 🙂

I’ll leave you with this photo of the sun over London, marking a surprisingly early return to warmer weather.

Thanks for reading, folks 🙂
