Arctic wind has descended upon London, caused by the jet stream moving south below the UK. This has left the days feeling frigid and the buildings around me cold and lifeless.
Yet, as I walk through the concrete jungle of my home, freezing cold, hood up around my head to shield myself from the brittle wind, I can’t help but feel…
London is beautiful in the winter.
When you stand on the Millennium Bridge and look out at the city, that skyline twinkles back at you. The lights of a thousand homes, offices and shops are a welcome sign of people going about their lives.
Christmas lights sparkle in the darkness after night descends in the late afternoon. They shine like beacons to cheer up the miserable crowds of commuters eager to get home.
And once home… the advent candle is there, burning a little more each day in the countdown to Christmas.
Tis the season to be jolly. Wrap up warm and enjoy it, folks. December has begun!
