The long march to warm weather continues.
However, the days are gradually getting lighter. One of the most dreary aspects of winter is getting up and going to work when it’s still dark. So I love that the mornings are brightening up as we make our way through February. It feels much better to see a bit of sunshine when I look out the train window π
And you know what else comes halfway through February… Valentine’s Day!
It fell on a work night this year, and going out would have disrupted our baby’s evening routine anyway. So my wife Elle bought an M&S Dine-In meal for a candlelit dinner at home π If you’re not familiar with this, I’d recommend checking out the M&S website as their Dine-In really is a great option for couples staying in.
I bought Elle some Lush Valentine’s Day items and chocolate, while she got me a frame with a cool message on it.
This evening was also my final day of eating sugary treats. I’ve been really bad lately when it comes to snacking so for Lent (well… really just for my own health) I’m giving up added sugar for 40 days. I eat far too many chocolates, biscuits, cakes and so on… basically any kind of snack that contains refined sugar.
I won’t be obsessive about sugar in prepared meals or jars of cooking sauce, but I need to stop all the junk for sure. Whether or not I succeed is entirely a mystery to me. At the very least, I avoided snacking at a work party on Friday π
If you’re giving up anything, let me know in the comments! Otherwise, thanks for reading folks π
Ooh good luck giving up sugar! I forgot about lent this year so haven’t given up anything!

I love an M&S meal in! All your foodie pictures look so good. I’ve been bad with consuming too much sugar. Since I went Belgium I’ve just wanted chocolateππ x
