A Sunny Bank Holiday Weekend

Oh my goodness has the sun returned with a vengeance! 🙂

London has seen some absolutely gorgeous weather for the bank holiday weekend. I am utterly delighted! It’s an enormous mood lifter to get weather like this, and I’ve been making the very most of it!

To kick off the three-day weekend, my wife and I went for a stroll in some public gardens.

Elle was able to catch some Pokemon too 🙂

After that, we met with our friend Laura.

She used to live next door to us and we wanted to have her round to see the new house. And it was perfect weather for enjoying the garden.

As the hot weather continued straight through to Sunday, we took our son Zack to a fair in Morden Hall Park.

Sadly, Zack was asleep for a large portion of it but we didn’t want to wake him up. He’s transitioning from two naps a day to one nap, so it’s important to let him get enough rest. When he did wake up, it wasn’t long before he was tottering around the park to explore the wide variety of sights and sounds of the fair.

That afternoon was spent relaxing at home and in the garden some more 🙂

The best part of this… Sunday evening no longer carried that feeling of ‘awww man, work tomorrow.’ Thank god for bank holiday Mondays! 🙂

So with a third day to enjoy the glorious weather, we met up with Zack’s godmother and had a picnic in the park.

I didn’t hesitate to combat my vitamin D deficiency with some sunbathing on all three days. In fact by the end of Sunday I had vest-shaped tan lines across my body! I don’t recall ever getting tan lines like that before. So on Monday I stripped off the vest to try and even things out while Elle and Zack stayed under the cool shade of the trees.

Naturally, we all used sun cream and were careful not to stay out in the sun for too long. After all, skin safety is very important!

If you’re in the UK, I hope you’ve been enjoying the bank holiday weekend too 🙂

Thanks for reading, folks!
