Some Assembly Required

Avengers Assemble! 🙂

I am a HUGE Marvel fan. I’ve said repeatedly that the Marvel Cinematic Universe has given me and many fans something we only dreamed was possible when we were growing up, reading comics of individual characters that met up in epic crossover events.

These days we have the MCU, a wonderfully executed cinematic version of this expansive universe. Is it perfect? No. We’ve had some fumbles. But we’ve also had some outstanding pieces of work that thrill me to the core.

It’s safe to say that over the last 10 years, Marvel has become one of my favourite series – second only to Final Fantasy (a video game series).

Up until this point, I’ve watched the MCU films on a variety of different streaming platforms and media including Netflix, Google Play, the Playstation Network, DVD and Blu-Ray. With Infinity War currently out, I decided it was finally time for me to assemble a proper collection of the MCU on a single consistent format.

I’ve chosen Blu-Ray for the high definition goodness. Things like 4K and 3D don’t matter to me, but I can definitely appreciate the difference between standard definition DVD and high definition Blu-Ray. My wife and I already own several films on Blu-Ray…

Luckily HMV are currently offering 2 films for £15 on Marvel films, so now is the perfect time to turn this random assortment into a fully fledged collection 🙂 Here’s what I’ve just purchased…

And here they arranged into the proper order (i.e. following the narrative of the movies).

This is how I intend to store them after we redecorate our living room. It’ll be my Marvel shelf, complete with a couple of POPs 🙂

Be young at heart, folks. It’s the best way to live! 🙂
