I’ve had a few songs stuck in my head lately. I just can’t seem to shake them and end up listening to them on a daily basis.
I’m the kind of person who listens to stuff over and over. I can’t say why precisely. I just like to absorb every bit of a song I like.
Here’s what I’ve been listening to lately.
Anpanman – BTS
I’m not familiar with BTS but they seem to be quite popular in Asia. This song has an amazing rhythm to it. It’s full of energy and makes me want to get up and dance (and I’m a terrible dancer!)
Unfortunately I don’t understand the language, so my interpretation is only based on the translation. But from what I understand, they’re singing about being a hero for the person they love… not because they’re tough and macho (like Superman) but because they can step between them and harm. They can get hurt for them, hence the Anpanman reference.
At least I think that’s what the song is about. But if anyone knows differently, please do let me know! In any case, the beats and rhythm are fantastic and I find myself listening to this a lot.
The Shape of You – Ed Sheeran
This has an oddly ‘plinky plunky’ vibe to it. Readers in the UK may recognise it as the music from the M&S food adverts, but it’s actually about physical attraction.
The lyrics are a bit risque and the melody is… well… plinky plunky. I don’t know how else to describe it! But I definitely feel this song. The melody means I can happily stick it on repeat.
Alive – Warbly Jets
This song was recently made famous by the sensational new video game, Marvel’s Spider-Man.
The guitars sound great and it feels quite energising. It’s perfect for when I’m out and about – good walking music 🙂
