Seasonal Sniffles

Hello, readers!

As I write this, I’m in bed with a hot cup of Ribena mixed with Sainsbury’s max strength cold medicine. Yup, this little Fed has succumbed to the seasonal sniffles.

I suppose it was only a matter of time. Half the people at my office have been sick lately and so has my own family. Combined with an exceptionally stressful workload yesterday, it was probably inevitable that my body would finally give way.

At least it gives me time to write my performance review for work without the burden of my usual targets weighing down on me. Although… it’s hard not to see the irony of writing my performance review while I am off work sick 😅

It also gives me a bit of time to reflect upon what I’ve been up to lately.

I went out for dinner with some colleagues recently. We went to Chinatown and enjoyed some very nice dim sum along with a bottle of hot sake. Even though there were five of us, we ordered a set meal for three people and it was still too much food for us to finish!

Afterwards we went to the Japan Centre nearby and I picked up a few goodies.

Alas, the chestnut flavoured Kit Kats are not as tasty as I imagined. I love the autumnal pack design, though.

The same is true of these Pokemon themed noodles. They look better than they taste 😁

I also discovered a new manga based on Final Fantasy.

As a huge fan of the series, I was delighted when I realised it focused on my favourite game ever Final Fantasy XIV.

And finally, my wife and I are continuing our weekly ‘eat-alongs’ of The Great British Bake-Off. This week involved Danish pastries 😋

So that’s what I’ve been up to lately. I’m now going to close my eyes and mentally will this illness away. That’ll work, right? 😁

Stay warm and happy, folks!
