Random Snippets – April 2019

Hello, readers!

As we move further along into April, here are some snippets of what I’ve been up to lately.

My wife and I have been continuing to use Hello Fresh to spice up our mealtimes.

Our son has also been getting involved in cooking!

My favourite so far has been the vegetable chilli pictured below. I will definitely make this again as it was delicious!

Work has continued to stress me out, so I’ve been doing my best to work it out of my system. One late Thursday night, I hit the gym, put on some Primals and ran myself into oblivion.

It was the longest and hardest distance I’d ever done. I paid the price for it with an injured knee over the weekend, but I honestly feel like it was worth it. Nothing kills my stress like exercise.

It also earned me another FitBit badge.

This will also contribute to my monthly target of 150 miles. Elle introduced me to something called Race at Your Pace which lets you set yourself a challenge over a month to push yourself to do more. I think it’s a great idea!

I’ve been continuing to use Huel to cut down on snacking at work.

It has been working like a charm! Not only am I putting less junk in my body, but the two bags of powder I bought are still going! With each week I consume Huel, I’m saving more and more money.

My thanks to fellow blogger MacPsych.me for making me aware of Huel in the first place πŸ™‚

Alongside the exercise, I’ve also been indulging a fair bit. While my family looked after our son on Saturday night, Elle and I went out to celebrate our friend’s birthday in a lovely pub in Kingston.

This resulted in a bit of phone filter silliness.

And of course… nothing beats a nice bit of pub food.

Except, perhaps, enjoying a cold Japanese beer in the comfort my own home πŸ˜‹

Finally, I’ve been getting reacquainted with paperback and hardback books after years of reading on a Kindle.

This anthology of short stories bridges the gap between the game Final Fantasy VII and my favourite film of all time, Advent Children. While not particularly well written, the stories definitely sucked me in. I was delighted to return to this world and it’s inhabitants.

After finishing it, I have rolled right onto Chronicles of Light, an anthology based on Final Fantasy XIV.

The writing in this is much stronger and I’m really enjoying it.

So that’s what I’ve been up to! Thanks for reading, folks πŸ™‚
